Burkina Faso, — also known as Burkina — is a landlocked country surrounded by six countries: Mali to the north, Niger to the east, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and côte d’ivoire to the southwest.

Burkina’s capital is Ouagadougou. The country is 274,200 km2, (105,900 sq. miles) with an estimated population of more than 15,757,000, it is a multi-ethnic nation with some sixty ethnic and linguistic groups.
